The Ambassador of Afghanistan in Warsaw met the Rector of Warsaw University

Warsaw- Poland, Tuesday, 11th February 2020

 Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador, and Mr. Syed Ismail Yosufi, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Warsaw met the honorable Rector, Prof. Marcin Pałys, and Professor Jolanta Choińska-Mika, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching of the University of Warsaw.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Ahmadi appreciated the valuable assistance provided by the authorities and professors of the University of Warsaw to Afghan students. The Ambassador also added: “Collaboration with the University of Warsaw is one of the important fields of bilateral cooperation between Afghanistan and Poland, hence on behalf of the government and the people of Afghanistan I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for all the cooperation extended from the University to Afghanistan over the past half-century. We have many students who have graduated this prestigious University, who currently are serving duties as officials, diplomats and other specialists in Afghanistan”.
While mentioning about the significant achievements of Afghanistan in the areas of education and higher education in the last 18 years, Ambassador Ahmadi requested establishing academic and educational cooperation between Kabul University and the University of Warsaw.
During the meeting the honorable Rector also mentioned about the historical and fruitful cooperation of the University of Warsaw with Afghanistan and welcomed the Ambassador’s suggestion to establish academic and educational cooperation between the University of Warsaw and Kabul University.

 Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Warsaw attended at the luncheon meeting of H.E. Mr. Jacek Czaputowicz, Minister of Foreign Affaires of the Republic of Poland with Ambassadors of the Asia and the Pacific countries in Warsaw.
The meeting was held at the Asia&Pacific Meusume of Warsaw, on Friday 31 January 2020.

The Embassy of Afghanistan in Warsaw participated in the 25th Annual Meeting of Diplomats from Asia and Africa with incoming freshmen at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Warsaw

Warsaw, Thursday, 23 January 2020

 The Faculty of Oriental Studies of University of Warsaw organized its 25th Annual Meeting of Diplomats from Asia and Africa with incoming freshmen.
The event was attended by the Rector of the Warsaw University, Dean of the Oriental Studies Faculty, professors and students from different faculties of the University, Ambassadors and diplomats from countries with residence in Warsaw.
The first part of the program was inaugurated with the speech of the honorable University Rector, followed by speeches of the Faculty Dean, and some participating Ambassadors.
Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Poland, also delivered a speech in this program. Ambassador Ahmadi appreciated the valuable cooperation of the Warsaw University with students from Afghanistan.
Ambassador Ahmadi, while mentioning more than half-a-century cooperation of Warsaw University with Afghanistan, requested for more assistance and expansion of academic and educational collaboration between the University of Warsaw and Kabul University.
During the second part of the program, the participating Embassies exhibited their cultural booths which contained their cultural features including traditional foods and exhibitions of tourism and landscapes from their countries.
The cultural section of the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Warsaw also exhibited different aspects of Afghanistan’s culture, including information materials about Afghanistan, photos of different cultural and historical sites and landscapes, and as well as Afghan food which was highly appreciated by the students and other participants in the cultural program.

Ambassador of Afghanistan met the Head of Asia and Oceania Dvision Ministry of Foreign Affaires of Latvia

Riga, Latvia- Friday, 17 January 2020

 Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Latvia with residence in Warsaw met Ms. Ligita Davidova, the Head of Asia and Oceania Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Afghanistan and the Head of Asia and Oceania Division of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia had a fruitful discussion and exchange of views on bilateral cooperation between Afghanistan and Latvia in the fields of political, Economic, Education, Transport and civil aviation, as well as the cooperation between the two countries at the United Nations Organizations.
The ambassador of Afghanistan also handed over the copy of MoU of cooperation between Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan and Ministry of Education and science of Latvia and requesting their cooperation for signing and implementation of the said MoU.
The meeting was also attended by Mr Zigmunds Zamockis, Second Secretary, Asia and Oceania Division of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.

Ambassador Ahmadi attended at a Luncheon meeting hosted by H.E. Mr. Edgars Rinkēvičs, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.
