The Ambassador of Afghanistan Visited the European Academy of Diplomacy

Warsaw-Poland: Tuesday, March 19, 2019

H.E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Poland, visited the European Academy of Diplomacy in Warsaw and met with Ms. Natalia Czajkowska, head of Executive Education Department at the European Academy of Diplomacy in Warsaw.

During the meeting, Ambassador of Afghanistan expressed his gratitude for visiting the European Academy of Diplomacy and spoke about some of Afghanistan's achievements in various fields, especially on education and higher education. The Ambassador also added“ The Embassy of Afghanistan in Warsaw is ready to welcome the students from the Academy, to visit the Embassy for a study visit. I also would appreciate if the European Academy of Diplomacy, if possible, can include some students from Afghanistan to the future training and education programs of the academy.”

The head of Executive Education Department at the European Academy of Diplomacy, welcomed the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for visiting the European Academy of Diplomacy, and spoke about the activities of the Academy in detail, she added“ we had some Afghan students in the Academy during the past years and we will try to include some eligible students from Afghanistan, in the future education programs of the academy as well. I also appreciate and welcome your suggestion about the Study-visit for the students from the Academy to visit the embassy of Afghanistan.”

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Mohammad Salim Zabardast, first Secretary of the Embassy of Afghanistan and Mr. Łukasz Karsznicki, Member of Executive Education Department and Training Coordinator at the European Academy of Diplomacy in Warsaw.

Warsaw-Poland: Thursday, March 14, 2019

H.E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Poland, visited and gave a lecture at the Department of Persian Language Department, Faculty of Oriental Studies, of the University of Warsaw.

In his lecture, the Ambassador spoke about the historical and friendly relations between Afghanistan and Poland and about Afghanistan’s achievements in different areas, especially on Education and higher Education.

This lecture was attended by Dr. Sylwia Surdykowska, Director of Iranian Studies Department at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Prof. Jolanta Sierakowska, former Dean of Iranian Studies Department, Students from Persian Language Department, other students and staff members of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Warsaw.

After the speech, the students asked questions about the current situation and various issues related to Afghanistan. Then, the Ambassador answered and explained about all the questions accordingly.

It is worth mentioning that Prof. Jolanta Sierakowska, is one of the specialists about Afghanistan and Persian language. She was studying at the Persian language Department, University of Kabul during 1970s.

The Ambassador of Afghanistan met the Poland-Afghanistan Parliamentary Group

Warsaw-Poland: Wednesday, March 13, 2019

H.E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Poland met the honorable Chairman Mr. Marek Biernacki, and the respected members of the Polish - Afghan Parliamentary Group at the premises of Parliament of the Republic of Poland.

During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for visiting the Parliament of the Republic of Poland and for meeting the honorable Chairman and other respected members of the Polish - Afghan Parliamentary Group.

The Ambassador of Afghanistan conveyed the appreciation of the people and Government of Afghanistan to the people and Government of Poland for their support and assistance, especially for the sacrifices of Polish troops alongside of the National Security Forces of Afghanistan for maintaining peace and stability.

The Ambassador also briefed the members of Polish - Afghan Parliamentary Group on the achievements of Afghanistan in the areas of politics, security, economy, education and higher education, as well as he spoke about peace process in Afghanistan.

While welcoming the Ambassador of Afghanistan, the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of Afghanistan and Poland said: “my colleagues and I have visited Afghanistan several times and we are familiar with the history and liberation struggles of the People of Afghanistan. In the past years, Poland has been working with Afghanistan for maintaining security and reconstruction projects and now we are looking forward to enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries in the economic, commercial, education and cultural fields.” He also expressed his hope that after the beginning of the new round of Parliament of Afghanistan, a new parliamentary group from Afghanistan will be introduced.

H.E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Poland met the Honorable Prof. Dr. hab. Klaudiusz Baran, Rector of Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.

During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for visiting the historical and prestigious Frydreryk Chopin University of Music and spoke about Afghanistan’s development in the areas of education and higher education, as well as the achievements of Afghanistan National Institute of Music.

The Ambassador of Afghanistan and the Rector of Frederic Chopin University of Music had a fruitful discussion and exchange of views on a possibility of cooperation between the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and Afghanistan National Institute of Music or Kabul University.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Mohammad Salim Zabardast, First Secretary of the Embassy.

Ambassador of Afghanistan visited Estonian School Of Diplomacy in Tallinn

Tallinn-Estonia: Monday 25 February, 2019

Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, non-residence Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Estonia visited the Estonian School of Diplomacy and met with Mrs. Mari-Liis Sulg and Ms. Kristiina-Maria Ploom, Program managers of the Estonian School of Diplomacy.

During the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed his thanks and appreciation to the Estonian School of Diplomacy for granting scholarships and training programs to the young Diplomats from Afghanistan over the last years. He also mentioned the achievements of Afghanistan in different fields, especially in the area of education and higher education.

The manager of the educational program of the Estonian School of Diplomacy expressed her thanks to the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for visiting and added: “I invite you to visit the Estonian School of Diplomacy, again in the future and give a lecture about the current situation and achievements of Afghanistan in the recent years.”

She also said: “Over the past years, we have granted many educational scholarships to Afghanistan. Currently, two students from Afghanistan are studying in this institute. We are planning to launch new, short term training programs for young diplomats from different counties in the near future, to which we would like to invite some young diplomats from Afghanistan as well.”

The Ambassador expressed his willingness to deliver a lecture during his next visit, and conveyed his appreciation for including Afghanistan in the short term training programs of the Estonian School of Diplomacy.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Mubarez Basir, an employee of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Ahmad Zubair Ysufi, an employee of Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, who are studying in this School.
