Ambassador of Afghanistan met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland

Warsaw-Poland, Tuesday November 20, 2018

H.E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Poland, met with H.E. Mr. Maciej Lang, Undersecretary of State for Economic Diplomacy, Development Cooperation, Asia, Africa and the Middle East Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

During this meeting, the Ambassador mentioned the historical and friendly relations between Afghanistan and Poland and then conveyed his appreciation for Poland’s support and assistance in the past years. Later, he spoke in details about Afghanistan’s achievements in different areas, such as: economy, education, higher education, the current situation, holding successful parliamentary election on 20 October of this year, the peace process and the Presidential election in April 2019.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Poland mentioned about his former diplomatic mission in Afghanistan, the historical and friendly relations between the two countries, as well as he assured continued support of Poland to Afghanistan.

Ambassador Ahmadi and Deputy Minister Lang, also had a fruitful discussion and exchange of views on enhancing the bilateral relations and cooperation in different areas between the two countries. Especially holding of training program for the required capacity building for Afghanistan civil servants and sharing other successful experiences, Poland has had in the areas of economy, trade, cultural, education and higher education.

The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland and it was also attended by: Mr. Mohammad Daoud Noorzai, Counsellor of the Embassy of Afghanistan, Mr. Krzysztof Dobrowolski, Deputy Director, Asia-Pacific Department and Mr. Piotr Buszta, Counsellor and the head of South Asia Section, Asia-Pacific Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
