Newly arrived Ambassador of Afghanistan visits President of Poland

On the 11th of February, H.E. Ambassador Abdul Hai Haider presented his Letters of Credence to Poland’s President Bronisław Komorowski. Same day, he participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider in Warsaw. 

H.E. Ambassador Haider had previously served in Poland twice: In the years of 2002-2007 leading the Mission and in the years of 1998-2000 when he arrived as First Secretary and later raised to the rank of Counselor. He is recipient of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland and honorary award “Bene Merito” among other bestowed distinctions.  

Prior to the current assignment, H.E. Ambassador Haider was Deputy Foreign Minister and Ambassador to Kazakhstan (2008-2010). Before these, he also served as Chief of Protocol and Economic Advisor to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. 

He speaks Dari, Polish, English. 

He is married and has one daughter.
