The Ambassador of Afghanistan met the Rector of Jagiellonian University in Kraków

Kraków-Poland, Monday June 11, 2018

H.E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Poland met honorable prof. dr hab. med. Wojciech Nowak, Rector of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

The Ambassador was accompanied by the Embassy’s First Secretary, Mr. Mohammad Salim Zabardast throughout the visit. The meeting was also attended by honorable prof. dr hab. Adam W. Jelonek, the UJ Rector’s Representative for Internationalization and head of the UJ Institute of the Middle and Far East.

During the meeting the conversation focused on prospects for development of cooperation between institutions of higher education in Afghanistan and the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Both sides pledged to work to increase the number of students from Afghanistan at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

Ambassador Ahmadi was also invited to deliver a lecture at the UJ Faculty of International and Political Studies.

The Kraków University is the oldest higher education institution in Poland and one of the oldest in Europe. It was founded on 12 May 1364 by the Polish king Casimir the Great.
