Embassy of Afghanistan in Warsaw Participated to the Cultural Program at the Fabulty of Oriental Studies, University of Warsaw

The Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Warsaw, participated in a cultural program at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Warsaw.

This cultural program was attended by students, Vice Rector of Warsaw University, Dean and professors of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, some ambassadors and other diplomats of the Embassies in Warsaw from different countries. The first part of the program was begun by speech of the Vice-president of the University, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, and some participating ambassadors.

H. E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Warsaw also had a speech in this cultural program. The Ambassador of Afghanistan appreciated the valuable support and cooperation of the University of Warsaw with the Afghan students and he also added: “I would like to take this opportunity to convey my congratulation and best wishes for the new year of 2019 and wish all the successes, for the beginning of the new academic semester, to all the students and authorities of the university of Warsaw. University of Warsaw is one of the prestigious and well-known universities, not only in Europe, but also to the world. University of Warsaw supported the people of Afghanistan for more than several decades. During these years, many Afghan students were graduated from this university, currently working in different fields, including in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan as afghan diplomats. As an example, late Mr. Mohammad Rahim Sherzoi, former deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan was one of the students who was graduated from the Law Faculty of Warsaw University. Finally I would like to inform that the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Warsaw is ready to cooperate, for the strengthening and expansion of the cultural relations, with the University of Warsaw, especially with the Faculty of Oriental Studies”.

During the second part of the program, the participating embassies exhibited their cultural booths which contained their cultural features, different photos of their cultural sights and as well as different types of the couisines from their countries. The cultural section of the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Warsaw, also exhibited different aspects of Afghanistan culture, including information materials about Afghanistan, photos of different cultural and historical sights and landscapes, and as well as afghan food which highly appreciated by the students and other participants in this cultural program.

Ambassador of Afghanistan met Director of Asia Pacific Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland

H.E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Poland, met with H.E. Mr. Paweł Milewski, Director of the Asia Pacific Department and Ms. Monika Krzewicka, Counsellor at the Asia Pacific Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

During this meeting, which was held in the Embassy of Afghanistan, Ambassador Ahmadi and Director Milewski had a fruitful discussion and exchange of views on the current cooperation and enhancing of the bilateral relations in different areas between Afghanistan and Poland.

H.E. Mr. Ezatullah Sediqi, Deputy Director General of National Environmental Protection Agency of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with accompanying delegation and H.E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Poland had attended in the opening ceremony of UN Climate Change Conference #COP24 in Katowice, Poland.

Ambassador of Afghanistan met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland

H.E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Poland, met with H.E. Mr. Maciej Lang, Undersecretary of State for Economic Diplomacy, Development Cooperation, Asia, Africa and the Middle East Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

During this meeting, the Ambassador mentioned the historical and friendly relations between Afghanistan and Poland and then conveyed his appreciation for Poland’s support and assistance in the past years. Later, he spoke in details about Afghanistan’s achievements in different areas, such as: economy, education, higher education, the current situation, holding successful parliamentary election on 20 October of this year, the peace process and the Presidential election in April 2019.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Poland mentioned about his former diplomatic mission in Afghanistan, the historical and friendly relations between the two countries, as well as he assured continued support of Poland to Afghanistan.

Ambassador Ahmadi and Deputy Minister Lang, also had a fruitful discussion and exchange of views on enhancing the bilateral relations and cooperation in different areas between the two countries. Especially holding of training program for the required capacity building for Afghanistan civil servants and sharing other successful experiences, Poland has had in the areas of economy, trade, cultural, education and higher education.

The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland and it was also attended by: Mr. Mohammad Daoud Noorzai, Counsellor of the Embassy of Afghanistan, Mr. Krzysztof Dobrowolski, Deputy Director, Asia-Pacific Department and Mr. Piotr Buszta, Counsellor and the head of South Asia Section, Asia-Pacific Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

H.E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Warsaw had a courtesy call with H.E. Mr. Martin Roger, Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to the Republic of Poland.

During this meeting, the Ambassadors had a fruitful discussion and exchange of views on the wide range of issues of bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Estonia.
